NYSC Timetable 2026: Where the Official Schedule Stands and How to Spot Fake Announcements

Every mobilisation season, social media fills up with screenshots of "new NYSC timetables", "extended deadlines" and "call-up letters now out". Some are accurate. Many are not. This guide explains how the official timetable works, where it stands for 2026 and how to check anything you read before you act on it.

Where the official timetable is published

The NYSC's own FAQ states that it publishes the mobilisation timetable for every batch on its official website, at nysc.gov.ng/mobtable.html. That page is the primary source for registration windows, call-up letter printing and orientation course dates.

Where it stands now

At the time of writing, the timetable page on the NYSC website shows the 2026 Batch 'A' Stream II mobilisation timetable, marked "Last Update: 02/04/2026", with all dates labelled as tentative.

The dates for the current 2026 Batch C Stream I orientation course — 30 September to 20 October 2026 — were announced in an NYSC statement by its Director of Information and Public Relations and reported by several national newspapers. See our Batch C Stream I guide for the details.

In other words, not every announcement appears on the timetable page straight away. That is exactly why knowing how to verify matters.

How the mobilisation stages work

Each batch follows the same sequence of stages. The 2026 Batch A Stream II timetable, for example, listed:

1. Briefing of final-year students and prospective corps members in corps-producing institutions
2. Uploading of Senate/Academic Board approved results by institutions
3. Online registration by foreign- and locally-trained graduates
4. Pre-camp physical verification of credentials for foreign-trained graduates
5. Processing by the NYSC ICT department
6. Online printing of deployment by institutions and delivery of physical call-up letters
7. Notification and printing of call-up letters by prospective corps members
8. The orientation course

Knowing the order helps you spot nonsense. A post claiming call-up letters are out before registration has even closed is almost certainly wrong.

How to verify an NYSC announcement

Before you act on any date or instruction, check:

• Is it on the official website? Look at nysc.gov.ng, especially the timetable page.
• Is it on the NYSC's verified social media accounts? The NYSC website links to its official Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, WhatsApp and Telegram channels.
• Is it reported by more than one established news outlet, attributed to a named NYSC official?
• Does your state secretariat confirm it?

If a post fails all of these, treat it as unconfirmed.

Red flags of fake announcements

• A request for payment to "speed up" registration, change your posting or release your call-up letter.
• Links to portals that are not on the official NYSC domains.
• No named official, no date and no source.
• Pressure to act "within the next hour".

Registration and printing are done from your own dashboard on the official portal. Nobody needs your password.

• Follow the NYSC's verified accounts only.
