NYSC 2026 Batch C Stream I: Orientation Camp Dates, Registration and What to Do Before 30 September

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that the 2026 Batch C Stream I orientation course will begin on Wednesday, 30 September 2026 and end on Tuesday, 20 October 2026. If you have been mobilised for this stream, the next few days are about getting your documents, your luggage and your journey sorted.

This guide sets out what has been announced, where the information comes from and the practical steps to take before you leave home.

The confirmed dates

According to a statement from the NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, reported on 15 September 2026:

The course holds in orientation camps across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Your call-up letter tells you which state you have been deployed to, and our list of NYSC orientation camp addresses shows where each camp is.

A note on sources: at the time of writing, the timetable page on the official NYSC website still shows the 2026 Batch A Stream II schedule. The Batch C dates above come from the NYSC statement as reported by several national newspapers. If your state secretariat or your call-up letter gives different instructions, follow those.

What "registration closes on 2 October" means for you

Camp registration is when you are documented and allocated a place in camp. Arriving early in the window gives you more time to queue, complete your documentation and settle in before the swearing-in ceremony. Arriving on the last day leaves no room for delays on the road, so plan to travel as early as your circumstances allow.

At least one state release, reported by PM News for Osun State, gave a later closing time for registration. When a state announcement differs from the national one, the safest course is to arrive within the national window and confirm any exceptions with your state NYSC secretariat.

Before 30 September: your checklist

4. Plan your route to camp and decide who you are travelling with.
5. Save important numbers — family contacts and your state NYSC secretariat — on your phone and on paper.

Some states have also asked corps members to bring traditional or cultural attire for the cultural activities held during the course.

Travelling safely to camp

The NYSC Director-General has urged prospective corps members to put their safety first on the way to camp, in particular by avoiding night journeys and boarding vehicles only at designated motor parks.

That advice is worth building your plans around:

• Leave early enough to arrive in daylight, even if that means setting off a day before.
• Use recognised motor parks and registered transport companies rather than roadside pick-ups.
• Share your route and vehicle details with someone at home.
• Keep your call-up letter and documents in your hand luggage, not in the boot.

What happens once you arrive

The orientation course is three weeks of drills, physical training, lectures, skills acquisition and entrepreneurship training, cultural activities and social events, opened by a formal swearing-in ceremony.
